Lady Gaga Accidentally Announced Her Engagement at the Paris 2024 Olympics

Lady Gaga seems to be engaged to her longtime boyfriend, entrepreneur and tech investor Michael Polansky. The unofficial announcement came during the 2024 Paris Olympics, where the singer shared the happy news with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.

In a TikTok video Attal posted on Sunday, July 28, Gaga introduces Polansky as “my fiancé” while they watch a swimming event together.

Gaga and Polansky’s love story kicked off in 2020. They were first linked when they were spotted kissing at a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas. Not long after, they went public with their relationship during a weekend at Super Bowl 2020 in Miami, filled with plenty of PDA. Since then, they’ve been pretty much inseparable, showing up together at all sorts of events.

In January 2022, a source told Entertainment Tonight, “Lady Gaga and Michael are still together and enjoying their relationship. Gaga and Michael are serious and very much in love.”

Who Is Lady Gaga’s Fiancé?

Michael Polansky, a tech investor and the executive director of the philanthropic Parker Foundation, has been a constant in Gaga’s life. They went Instagram official in February 2020 and have appeared together many times since, including in New York City on October 22, 2023. Their bond even extends into their professional lives. In a 2020 interview with People, Gaga mentioned that Polansky was helping with an app for her Born This Way Foundation. She said, “With Born This Way Foundation, my mother, Cynthia Germanotta, and our co-founder Maya [Enista Smith], who I love so very much — they are working with my, the love of my life on something for mental health.”

Polansky has stood by Gaga’s side at many important moments, including the 2022 Grammys and the Saturday Night Live cast afterparty in October 2023, where they held hands.

Gaga’s engagement to Polansky marks a new chapter in her love life. She was previously engaged to Christian Carino, but they split in early 2019 after two years together. Before that, she was engaged to Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kinney in February 2015. However, they called it off the following year.
