On Aug. 15, Lauren London honored Nipsey Hussle on what would have been his 35th birthday. The ATL actress shared a black and white Instagram photo of the “Double Up” rapper with a heartfelt message that reads:
King Ermias
Best Friend
Twin Flame
Greatest Teacher
Beautiful Strong Vessel
The Spiritual Giant that walked Earth.
“I Miss You” will never be deep enough for the void left in my soul.
Yet, I know you walk with me- always still.
Happy 35th
Eternally Yours, Boogie.
Lauren’s tribute came four months after she eulogized Nipsey on the one-year anniversary of his death. “The pain is as heavy today as it was a year ago,” she captioned an Instagram snap of them. “God knows I would give anything to see you again.” Nipsey was fatally shot outside of his store, The Marathon Clothing, in Los Angeles in March 2019. The couple, who had been together since 2013, has a 3-year-old son named Cross. Lauren also shares a 10-year-old son with ex-boyfriend Lil Wayne, and Nipsey had a daughter, Emani, 11, from a previous relationship.
Other stars – including Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, and Swizz Beatz – paid tribute to Nipsey, as well. Snoop Dogg also released a new track, Nipsey Blue, dedicated to the late rapper. “Just the mention of your name / Makes me wanna paint my game,” Snoop says in the song inspired by Dorothy Moore’s 1976 hit, “Misty Blue.” He continues: “Listen to me, homie / When I think of the things we used to do / My whole world turns Nipsey Blue.”
