Aussie Breakdancer Raygun Makes a Surprise Appearance at the 2024 Logies
The 2024 TV Logie Awards are currently underway at The Star Sydney, with the biggest names in Aussie TV in attendance and Sam Pang at the helm. However, in a surprising turn of events, Australia’s breakdancing star Rachael Gunn, known as Raygun, made a surprise appearance during the night.
Fresh from her global-breaking debut, Raygun made a surprise appearance at the Logies, and the crowd was buzzing.
Raygun, who became a worldwide sensation with her performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, took the stage to deliver an uplifting message to the nominees and gave a nod to her Olympic adventures.

Raygun’s Logies Surprise
“Just want to say congrats to all the Logies nominees,” she said in a video message recorded remotely from Europe.
“Feel free to pull out any of my signature moves in celebration. Have fun and look after each other.”
The 36-year-old Macquarie University lecturer, who holds a PhD in breakdancing and dance culture, made waves with her unique and high-energy moves at the Olympics. Even though she didn’t score any points in her pool matches, she won hearts globally with her fearless and creative routines.
Host Sam Pang made sure to shine a spotlight on Raygun’s phenomenal impact. “We’re absolutely delighted to have Raygun with us tonight,” Pang announced. “She’s not just an incredible dancer but also a fantastic representative of Aussie talent on the world stage.”
Raygun’s Olympic Debut
Raygun’s appearance came just days after she took to Instagram to address her critics, expressing her appreciation for the support and acknowledging the mixed reactions to her Olympic performance. In the video, she thanked those who had supported her, saying she “really appreciated” the positivity.
“And I’m glad I was able to bring some joy into your lives, that’s what I hoped,” she said. “I didn’t realise that that would also open the door to so much hate, which has frankly been pretty devastating.”
She continued: ““I worked my butt off preparing for the Olympics and I gave my all, truly… I am honoured to have been part of the Australian Olympic team and to be a part of breaking’s Olympic debut.”
