Love Island Australia star Anna McEvoy said “I do” to her longtime parter, Michael Staples, in the wedding she’d been dreaming about on the Greek islands.
The 31-year-old sealed the deal with her long-time beau last Friday in Corfu, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. They picked the beautiful Courti Estate for their venue where they exchanged vows and danced the night away.
Anna glided down the aisle in a stunning Alin Le’ Kal creation, a masterpiece from the renowned Melbourne couturier. The dress boasted intricate floral embroidery, a structured corset bodice, and a daring thigh-high slit, perfectly complementing her radiant aura.
With her blonde hair swept up in a bun to show off some gorgeous pearl earrings, Anna was the epitome of elegance as she pledged her love to Michael.
Michael, on the other hand, was the picture of sophistication in a sharp BELANCĒ tuxedo, complete with a white blazer and black trousers, all tied together with a sleek black bow tie.
The couple shared some sweet moments from their big day on Instagram. Anna posted a video that gave fans a peek into their fairytale wedding, from heartfelt vows to happy tears.
Talking about the magical day, Anna told the Herald Sun: “Our wedding day at The Courti Estate was magical. It was the idyllic European wedding of our dreams, that turned out even better than we could have imagined. Michael and I couldn’t be happier.”
She added, “We are so overwhelmed with love from our amazing family and friends, who travelled all the way to Greece to support us.”
Anna’s Big Wedding “Secret”
Despite the extravagant affair, Anna had already spilled the beans on her podcast, Where’s Your Head At?, about a little “secret” she and Michael had tucked away before their Greek getaway.
“On the 28th of April, Michael and I sneaked off to the registry office with both sets of parents and had a registry secret wedding!” she chuckled to her co-host, Matthew Zukowski.
Anna clarified that while their Greek celebration was all about the love and celebration, legally, they had tied the knot a month prior in Melbourne.
“Our wedding in Greece yesterday wasn’t a legal thing. It’s our special day, our ‘I do’ moment, you know,” she explained.
Anna rose to fame on Season 2 of Love Island Australia. She won the show with Josh Packham, but the couple split in December 2020. She started dating Michael in September 2021, and got engaged in October 2022.
