We Ranked the Most Eye-Watering Properties On Luxe Listings, Because We Have Real Estate Envy
POPSUGAR Australia has partnered with Prime Video to prepare you for all the glamour, drama and rivalries in season three of Luxe Listings Sydney.
Luxe Listings Sydney is reality TV at its finest, right in our very own backyard — the only problem is, it’s given me a serious case of real estate envy. In case you’re not across it yet, here’s the premise: four top-tier real estate agents buy and sell some of the most luxurious and epic properties Sydney has to offer — all while navigating their own spicy personal lives.
These houses are really something. Sweeping views, kitchen pantries larger than my entire bedroom, living areas that open up onto private beaches — it makes my living situation look truly pitiful in comparison.
In preparation for season three of Luxe Listings Sydney premiering on Amazon Prime on September 30, let’s look back on some of the most eye-watering properties featured over the past seasons.
S01E06: The Castle, listing price $33 million
Built in 1903 using original Sydney sandstone, The Castle is as regal as its name suggests. The property spans 9000 square metres, features five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a full size tennis court, surrounded entirely by Sydney harbour views. This eccentric, heritage-listed property is definitely one for antique admirers — but if that’s not your style, there’s also council approved plans for a brand new home to be built on The Castle’s vast plot.
S01E03: The Copper House, listing price $55 million
With a whopping five bedrooms, six bathrooms and about $1 million worth of interior copper features, this house quite literally has it all, including sweeping views of Sydney harbour and access to a private swimming area, frequently visited by a friendly seal named Sally. Funnily enough, this house is the only property on the street going for under $100 million, so it’s practically a bargain.
S02E01: The Crypto Castle, estimated price $18-22 million
And now for a very different type of castle. Owned by the ‘Crypto King’ Fred Schebesta, The Crypto Castle is located right on the cliffs of Coogee, looking out onto the surf. The edgy, industrial design of this mansion may be an acquired taste, but the panoramic views of the ocean will appeal to everyone. Oh, and there’s an infinity pool, of course. To be honest this mansion is probably a better investment than crypto is at the moment, so the ‘Crypto King’ is no fool.
S01E05: Cremorne, listing price $13 million
I have always wondered what it would be like to live in a house with a lift. No more carrying loads of washing up and down the stairs — simply take the lift, darling. This house not only has its own lift (that goes right down to the waterfront, by the way), but a massive five bedrooms, four bathrooms and its own personal jetty. With stunning views of the bay from all angles, this is one leafy paradise.
S02E05: Amalfi Coast House, estimated price $18-20 million
Mamma mia! Named for the Amalfi coast in Italy, this house is as sun-soaked and glamorous as its namesake. With clear views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, this house may be influenced by Italian architecture but has an undeniably Australian heart. This impressive property boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a massive pool and a light-filled atrium — the Amalfi Coast House has quite literally everything you could ever want in a home. Now where did I put that spare $18 million I had lying around…
S02E06: The Country Estate, estimated price $9-10 million
Located just a 45 minutes’ drive from Sydney’s CBD, The Country Estate is a sprawling, secluded, resort-style paradise. Featuring gorgeous views of the local greenery, a full-size tennis court, swimming pool, six bedrooms, six bathrooms, at-home cinema and five acres of land, this house is a family friendly dream. But also perfect for an eccentric millionaire who would like to live alone in the country and wander mournfully through the empty halls of their mansion — hey, I’m not here to judge.
