Former “Married At First Sight” star Ryan Gallagher has announced some very exciting news — he’s engaged!
The reality star got down on one knee and popped the question to Olympic swimmer Emily Seehohm, just three months after making their relationship public.
Gallagher shared the big news to his 218,000 Instagram followers, posting a photo of himself and Emily showing off the ring, with a caption that simply read “Yeehaaa” and a love heart emoji.
The post was flooded with congratulatory messages from friends and followers.
“Ohhh WOW!!! ?? That’s very happy news! Congratulations lovebirds!!!” MAFS’ Sarah Roza commented.
Nikki Osborne wrote, “Yay!! I’ve been dying keeping this quiet. It’s going to be quite the 2023 for you guys. Thrilled to bits you’ve found your partner in crime.”
While Tanya Hennessy said: “Ahhhh this is the best!!! Congrats xxxx.”
Ryan proposed to Emily at a dam on his farm outside of Goulburn, NSW, telling Woman’s Day, “When you know, you know.” He thought it was the perfect spot as she loves swimming in the dam.
“I did get nervous though. The [ring] box was making a bit of a bulge in my pocket. So either she knew I was proposing or she just thought I was happy to see her,” he added.
Ryan presented Emily with a stunning trilogy ring by Goulburn’s Zantis Jewellers. It features two smaller diamonds symbolising Emily and himself and the larger diamond in the middle symbolising their love.
Emily admitted it was an immediate “big yes”, calling it a “really special, cute moment”.
“It definitely had a Ryan flair to it and it’s something I’ll cherish forever,” she said.
The couple first met while competing on Network 10’s The Challenge Australia in 2022. Despite having a strong connection, Emily was in a relationship at the time. When she got home from filming the show, made the difficult choice to end it with her boyfriend.
“Obviously it wasn’t a nice call to make, but I told him what was going on and that there was something there with Ryan and I didn’t see the point in wasting any more time,” Emily admitted.
It’s clear that Ryan and Emily are both over the moon about their engagement, and fans can’t wait to see what the future holds for this happy couple.
