If you’re a bit of a DIY’er then Channel 10’s brand new reality show Making It Australia should be on your watch list.
Premiering on September 15, Making It Australia features the country’s most talented creators showing off their artistic flair.
The show will bring together some incredibly talented people with a passion for interior design, murals, woodwork, calligraphy and costume design to take part in a number of creative challenges.
The theme for each episode will be different from the last and will push the makers’ beyond their limits.
Whoever is crowned the “Master Maker” will win the grand prize of $100,000.
Hosted by Susie Youssef and Harley Breen, the show is based on the American version which is hosted by Parks and Rec stars Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman.
The creations will be judged by Production Designer and Art Director, Deborah Riley, and Paper Engineer Benja Harney.
Deborah Riley’s impressive CV includes Head of Art Department on Game of Thrones, and she has previously worked on movies such as The Matrix, 21 Grams and Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge.
She has four Emmy awards and a BAFTA.
Benja Harney has formerly worked for Google, Nike, Facebook and Hermes.
He has also worked alongside Kylie Minogue and Sia.
Daniel Monaghan, the head of programming at Network 10 said: “Making It Australia is an incredible creative competition for the whole family that celebrates the everyday maker.
“Combining the character and camaraderie of people who just love making things, Making It Australia will not only showcase some of the most beautiful, quirky and imaginative craftmanship at work, but it just might inspire you to make something along the way.”
