Neo and Trinity are back to their old tricks, and they’re bringing some new friends (and foes) along for the ride. The Matrix 4 is officially in development, with original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss signed on to reprise their roles as the action heroes, and we’re finally getting the details on who will be joining them!
Information about the film is still very hush-hush, but director Lana Wachowski will be writing, directing, and producing the newest instalment, so we have faith that we’re in for an exciting ride. Check out everyone who’s signed on to join the returning stars, and get ready to throw on your favourite black trench coat – The Matrix 4 is currently slated to start production in 2020.

The John Wick star returns to the franchise as the main protagonist, Neo. The former computer programmer is also known as The One or The Anomaly. He sacrifices his life at the end of The Matrix Revolutions, so it’ll be interesting to see how he returns for the fourth film.

Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity
Recently seen on Jessica Jones, Moss will reprise her role as badass computer programmer and First Mate of the Nebuchadnezzar Trinity. Like her partner, Trinity also perishes at the end of The Matrix Revolutions, but she’ll be making her way back into the Matrix for the fourth film.

The Hollywood Reporter announced that the Candyman star nabbed a leading role on Oct. 9, though there’s no news on what that role is. But it’s rumoured that Abdul-Mateen may play a young Morpheus, the role originally played by Laurence Fishburne.
