Megan Thee Stallion wants her fans to know she’s safe after two men broke into her Los Angeles home on Thursday, Oct. 13. Thankfully, the 27-year-old wasn’t home at the time since she’s currently in New York City preparing for Saturday’s episode of “Saturday Night Live,” where she’s pulling double duty as the host and musical guest. On Friday, she tweeted to let her followers know she was okay after the scary incident.
At first, she simply tweeted, “Wow,” but she quickly followed up her initial comment with a more detailed tweet. “Material things can be replaced but I’m glad everyone is safe ???,” she wrote.
As first reported by TMZ, the burglars went into her primary bedroom upon entering the home. From there they stole between $300-$400K worth of jewelry and other goods. As of Friday evening, the police reportedly did not have any suspects in custody, but local law enforcement agents are still searching for the people who broke into the “Sweetest Pie” rapper’s home. POPSUGAR reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department to confirm the details of the report, but did not receive an immediate response.
For now, Megan is focusing on preparing for her “Saturday Night Live” appearance, but she did share that she anticipates taking a break soon. It’s unclear if her decision is due in part to the break in, or if she simply needs a break from her demanding schedule. Either way, the rapper has made the important choice to put her health first.
“Hotties im really sorry but after SNL I really gotta take a break I’m so tired, physically and emotionally,” she tweeted on Friday, alerting her fans to the fact that she will be going on hiatus to focus on herself and her family for now. The news comes just a few days after Megan launched a mental health website called “Bad B*tches Have Bad Days Too.”
