Karl Stefanovic is a household name in Australia, thanks to his work as a television presenter and journalist.
He’s perhaps best known for his decade-long stint co-hosting “The Today Show” alongside Lisa Wilkinson, where the pair developed a loyal fanbase. Over the years, Karl has covered a wide range of stories and events, from the 2012 London Olympics to Meghan and Harry‘s royal wedding.
While his charismatic personality and sharp wit have endeared him to viewers across the country, he’s also been part of a fair few juicy headlines, too. The most recent and notable, was the altercation between former-cricketer Michael Clarke and Karl Stefanovic. We get into it below.
What Did Michael Clarke Say to Karl Stefanovic?
It all started when Michael Clarke and Karl Stefanovic, plus their partners, were filmed by a bystander in Noosa on January 10, 2023, in a public blow-up. The footage was initially published by “The Daily Telegraph” and shows two of Australia’s most high profile celebrities in a disagreement over cheating allegations.
The public fallout between Michael Clarke and Karl Stefanovic was said to have stemmed from Clarke cheating on his partner Jade Yarbrough, with fashion designer ex-girlfriend Pip Edwards.
It is still unclear how or if Stefanovic was involved, however the video has certainly dragged him into the whole ordeal, with Clarke unleashing a verbal barrage his way in Noosa that night.
“Karlos, I can tell you now c**t, don’t you f**king look away,” the former skipper said, seen to be walking after Stefanovic in the published video footage.
In the video, Clarke is also heard saying “Jade, it’s not f**king true,” to his current girlfriend, fighting against the cheating allegations.
Are Michael Clarke and Karl Stefanovic Still Mates?
Following the footage of Michael Clarke and Karl Stefanovic being published, it’s not clear where the two stand.
Previously, the media personality and former cricketer had a proper bromance, having known each other for years. And now, their current partners are actually sisters. Karl Stefanovic’s wife is Jasmine Yarbrough and Clarke is dating her younger sister, Jade Yarbrough.
However, despite their strong, years-long friendship, Stefanovic was reportedly furious after Clarke’s outbreak.
New Idea revealed that Stefanovic has closed the door on his old mate for good. The publication’s source said that Clarke’s silence following the incident, left Stefanovic furious.
“Karl’s very upset, and the shame this has brought to he and [wife] Jasmine’s families,” the source told “New Idea”. “A lot of people in the industry expected Michael to front up and own it.”
