If you’re a fan of network television then listen up, because Channel 7 is bringing some solid entertainment to our screens next year. At the latest Seven Upfront 2022 event, it was announced that a number of new shows will be joining returning favourites, and boy, will some of them surprise you.
If you thought you had seen the last of Australian Idol, you were wrong, because the show that made Guy Sebastian a star is making a comeback. But that doesn’t mean The Voice will no longer be airing, because the hit franchise will have two different versions next year, the original format and The Voice: Generations.
But if music isn’t really your thing, then you might enjoy Apartment Rules, which is a remake of the hit show House Rules. Also returning after a brief hiatus is cooking reality series My Kitchen Rules, with an all-new judging lineup (yeah, we didn’t expect Pete Evans to be returning for this one).
“Next year, we are committing an additional $30 million to $40 million to new local productions and we will have 52 weeks of proven content,” said Seven West Media Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, James Warburton.
And it’s safe to say, they’re going to deliver on their promise. There’s seriously something for everyone, from Farmer Wants A Wife — starring former Sunrise host Samantha Armytage, to Dancing With The Stars, Channel 7 is making sure they remain stiff competition.
