It’s been a busy weekend for Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The siblings arrived at the King’s Coronation concert to round out the crowning of King Charles III, waving Union Jack flags, dancing, and cheering on the Coronation performers including Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Take That.
For the occasion, Charlotte, 8, wore a white floaty dress with an oversized scalloped collar, and necktie with her hair plaited in a half up-do, while George, 9, wore a smart navy suit and tie. They sat in between their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the latter of whom wore a striking red Alexander McQueen trouser suit. As the concert didn’t start until 8pm, their youngest son, five-year-old Prince Louis, wasn’t in attendance, although he did make quite the impression a day earlier at the King’s Coronation ceremony when he made a number of hilarious facial expressions throughout the service. Their uncle, Prince Harry, attended the ceremony, but rushed back to the US a few hours later to celebrate his son, Prince Archie’s, fourth birthday.
The bank holiday weekend has been dedicated to King Charles’s official coronation, in which he was formally declared the new monarch. While Prince George wore a traditional red uniform to perform an important role as second in line to the throne at the service, Princess Charlotte matched her mum in a stunning white Alexander McQueen caped dress and a coordinated by Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece.
