Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey Are Reuniting For Mental Health Documentary, The Me You Can’t See
Last time Prince Harry and Oprah collaborated — well, we were left shooketh. And now this dynamic duo is reuniting for a second time, which is hopefully a little less explosive than last time but still just as important.
This time, the two are focusing on mental health and emotional wellbeing issues. The television documentary series, entitled The Me You Can’t See is due to premiere on May 21 on Apple TV+. Harry and Oprah, co-creators and producers, aren’t the only big names involved.
Icon Lady Gaga, actress Glenn Close, basketball players DeMar DeRozan (San Antonio Spurs) and Langston Galloway (Phoenix Suns), will also be contributing to the show. Talk about a star-studded line-up.
As we know, it’s for a very good cause, so it’s no wonder so many big names are speaking up. In fact, Oprah says the series is aimed to spark a global conversation — and replace the shame surrounding mental health with wisdom and compassion.
The Duke of Sussex agreed, and even alluded to his own tragic experience of losing his mother at age 12, saying in a statement, “The majority of us carry some form of unresolved trauma, loss, or grief, which feels – and is – very personal.”
There’s currently no word if his wife, Meghan Markle, will make an appearance on the documentary; she’s due to give birth this summer in the Northern Hemisphere to the couple’s second child, a (bound to be beautiful) baby girl.
But a new bub isn’t the only venture they’re set to take on together in the next year — the hard-working Duke and Duchess have project after project lined up, including working on an Invictus documentary, a whole lot of stuff for Netflix, their foundation Archewell, and Harry’s even been announced as the Chief Impact Officer of a wellness startup.
Yep, this couple are booked and busy!
