The next celebrity edition of “The Great British Baking Show” might have an extra dose of star power behind it. On June 23, Ryan Reynolds shared a photo of himself standing in front of the show’s iconic white tent with his arms around judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith on Instagram He captioned the wholesome snap, “A full and unconditional hug of pure serotonin.”
Reynolds wasn’t the only star spotted on the show’s set. Hollywood also shared a pic of the “Deadpool” actor’s wife, Blake Lively, sitting with him in cake corner, where he and Prue discuss the contestants’ bakes (Lively once earned a virtual handshake from Hollywood, so she’s basically a judge already). “Sorry Prue, Blake (@blakelively) has taken your seat… welcome to cake corner Blake,” he wrote. Hollywood also reshared Reynolds’s Instagram photo alongside the caption, “Prue and I catching up with @vancityreynolds.”
At this stage, it’s unclear whether or not Reynolds and Lively were simply enjoying a tour of the tent, or if they’ll make an appearance on an upcoming episode of the series. Each year, “The Great British Baking Show” films a celebrity episode during the summer that generally airs on Channel 4 in the UK and on Netflix in the US around the holidays. Additionally, Hollywood and Leith are also the judges on Roku’s “The Great American Baking Show” which airs on Roku, and also features a celebrity addition during the holiday season. POPSUGAR reached out to Channel 4 in regards to Reynolds and Lively’s visit, but did not receive an immediate response.
If Reynolds and Lively do end up appearing on “The Great British Baking Show,” they would be following in the footsteps of fellow celebrity participants like James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and David Schwimmer (all of whom appeared on “The Great British Baking Show” Stand Up to Cancer specials).
