Sabrina Carpenter is about to spice things up with her new single “Taste”, and she’s got a major surprise in store for fans. The 25-year-old pop star, who recently wowed us with “Espresso”, is dropping her new album Short n’ Sweet this week. But that’s not all — she’s also teased a huge celebrity cameo in the “Taste” music video.
Carpenter has been on a roll lately. Her single “Espresso” soared to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “Please Please Please” became her first-ever No. 1. With that kind of track record, Sabrina Carpenter sets sky-high expectations for “Taste”, her next big hit from her sixth studio album.
Jenna Ortega Cameo In “Taste” Music Video Teaser
On August 21, Sabrina gave us a sneak peek of the music video on social media, and it’s got everyone talking. The big reveal? Jenna Ortega, star of Wednesday and another Disney Channel alum, will be making a cameo. The video is set to drop alongside Short n’ Sweet on Friday, August 23, and the teaser is already creating a buzz.
In the clip, Sabrina grabs a knife from a bed covered in weapons and heads into a luxurious mansion. She makes her way to a fancy bathroom, opens the shower curtain, and — surprise — finds Jenna Ortega and a guy in a steamy situation. Just as Sabrina seems ready to make a dramatic move, the screen cuts to black, only to show her using the knife as a mirror to touch up her lipstick while singing, “Oh, I leave quite an impression.”
Is “Taste” Inspired By This Meryl Streep Movie?
Fans are already drawing comparisons between this video and the 1992 classic Death Becomes Her, starring Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis.
This video is also a nostalgic throwback for Sabrina and Jenna, who both got their starts on Disney Channel shows. Sabrina on Girl Meets World and Jenna on Stuck in the Middle. It’s great to see them reconnect in such a fun and dramatic way.
The “Taste” video follows Sabrina’s “Please Please Please”, which also featured a notable guest — her boyfriend, Barry Keoghan. With these star-studded appearances, Sabrina’s Short n’ Sweet album is shaping up to be a must-listen.
