We were first introduced to Sarah Todd in season six of MasterChef Australia, and now, she’s returning to the kitchen for Fans & Favourites. Since leaving the show, Todd has had a whirlwind journey.
She’s an international chef, restaurateur, TV host, speaker and entrepreneur. Not bad for a girl from the coastal Queensland town of Walkerston!
Her love of cooking first began when she watched her mum Lorraine serve up sweet treats in the kitchen, but the hospitality industry didn’t come knocking on her door until later in life.
Signed by a modelling agency at the age of 18, Todd spend much of her youth travelling for shoots and runway shows. In 2011, Todd welcomed her son Phoenix, and spent a few years living in London with her son’s Punjabi grandparents. It was then that her passion for food truly kicked off. She immersed herself in different cuisines around the world, from French to Punjabi.
Then, in 2014, she secured a spot on MasterChef Australia, and finished in the top 10. Shortly after, she opened her first restaurant in Goa, India, which led to a six-part TV show titled My Restaurant In India.
In 2018, she opened up her second restaurant in Mumbai and filmed another TV series, My Second Restaurant In India. Todd went on to publish multiple cookbooks and was also the official chef for the Australian Open.
Most recently, Todd co-hosted the Farm To Fork TV series on 10, which took viewers around Australia to showcase the country’s best produce. She’s obtained skills from Le Condon Bleu, and is certainly one to keep an eye on as MasterChef Australia kicks off its new season.
MasterChef Australia: Fans & Favourites premieres Monday, April 18 on Channel 10 and 10Play.
