Some people choose middle names to reflect their parentage, to honour grandparents or even their own name, but Big Brother star Skye Wheatley has chosen to name her newborn son after her former boyfriend.
In a YouTube video, which also showed the reality star in labour, the 27-year-old-revealed her son’s name — Bear West Waugh.
“I really like the name West and was going to use it as a first name, not because of the Kardashians or Kanye West,” she explained. “My first boyfriend I dated in high school, his last name was West also. That’s how I grew to love the name actually.”
Bear, on the other hand, is a name that Wheatley and her boyfriend Lachlan Waugh just “fell in love” with.
“The first name is Bear. We fell in love with it. It just took over the other names we have chosen, that was his name very early on,” she said before adding that his full name was “really cool and strong”.
Bear joins brother Forest, two. The couple shared a gorgeous photo of their eldest son meeting the newborn captioning the post: “So in love with the newest addition to our family.”
“Nothing like a brotherly bond,” she wrote on a carousel with a series of photos of her two children. “Forest is already nailing his older brother role, such a protector ? he insisted he have a beanie/head piece like his baby brother for the photo[sic].”
