In Honor of Connor and Willa’s Impending Nuptials, Relive All the Dramatic Weddings of “Succession”

“Succession” is all about people who can’t separate their lives from their work – even on days that are supposed to be happy, like personal occasions, such as weddings. Over the course of the show’s three seasons, weddings have been the sites of some of the show’s most dramatic sequences of events, from deaths to multiple botched attempts to loosen Logan Roy (Brian Cox)’s chokehold on Waystar RoyCo.

We already know that another major wedding is coming up in the show’s fourth and final season, which premieres on March 26. Connor Roy (Alan Ruck) and his escort-turned-fiancée Willa Ferreyra (Justine Lupe) got engaged in the season three finale, and the season four trailers have revealed brief glimpses of their big day, which is sure to be as chaos-filled as all the other “Succession” weddings. Ruck has also confirmed that the wedding will be a major part of the season. “Yes, it is quite dramatic,” he said during a March 22 roundtable, per GamesRadar. “I can’t tell you anything without spoiling stuff! But we know that Connor and Willa get married, and I can just say the circumstances are wild.”

Ahead of their highly anticipated wedding day – which one fan described as “my royal wedding” in a viral tweet – relive the twists and turns of each of the weddings that occur throughout “Succession.”

"Succession" Wedding No. 1: Shiv Roy and Tom Wambsgans (Season 1, Episode 10)

Season one, episode 10 – called “Nobody is Ever Missing” – sees Shiv Roy (Sarah Snook) marry Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) in an elaborate ceremony at Eastnor Castle in Scotland. Things aren’t looking good from the start, as in episode nine, Tom confronts Shiv about having an affair with a former coworker, and Shiv uses that as a chance to try to manipulate Tom into sharing details about the cruise ship disasters he helped cover up.

By episode 10, things have reached a boiling point. Kendall (Jeremy Strong), who has been plotting a takeover of Waystar RoyCo for almost the entire season, tells Logan about his plan to buy out the company during the reception, infuriating Shiv. Meanwhile, a satellite that Roman (Kieran Culkin) prepared to launch explodes, though no one was killed, and Connor decides he wants to run for president of the United States.

After night falls, Shiv and Tom have a far-from-ideal wedding night, as she tells him about her affair and then says she wants to have an open relationship. But things turn out immeasurably worse for Kendall, who asks a caterer (Tom Morley) to help him acquire drugs during the reception. While driving to pick them up, Kendall accidentally drives off a bridge, and the car sinks into a lake. Kendall makes it out, but the caterer drowns – and of course, Logan finds out and uses the event to blackmail Kendall into giving up his attempt to take over Waystar RoyCo.

"Succession" Wedding No. 2: Lady Caroline Collingwood and Peter Munion (Season 3, Episode 9)

In season three, episode nine, titled “All the Bells Say,” the “Succession” crew make their way to Tuscany, where the Roy kids’ mother, Lady Caroline Collingwood (Harriet Walter), is getting married to a suspicious character named Peter Munion (Pip Torrens) in a lavish villa. Once again, things get off to a rocky start.

The day before the wedding, Kendall gets drunk and nearly drowns in a swimming pool, leading his siblings to try to have an intervention with him that inevitably turns hostile. Then, during the wedding, Greg (Nicholas Braun) tries to simultaneously flirt with Kendall’s assistant, Comfrey (Dasha Nekrasova), and an Italian contessa (Ella Rumpf) in attendance. Willa also reluctantly agrees to accept Connor’s marriage proposal with a resounding “f*ck it.” Meanwhile, rumors about Logan selling Waystar RoyCo to tech executive Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) – whom Logan met with that morning – have been swirling. Roman tells Shiv that he thinks their dad sold the company, and the siblings then consult Kendall.

In a moment of desolation near some trash cans, Kendall finally tells his siblings about accidentally killing the caterer back in season one. Shiv and Roman band around him, and the trio plot to stop Logan, planning to use a stipulation in their parents’ divorce settlement that allows three out of four siblings to vote to kill any change in company leadership.

But once they arrive back at the villa, Logan reveals that he’s one-upped them once again, having persuaded their mother to revise the deal in the nick of time. At the end of the episode, it becomes clear that Tom – who has been slowly growing more and more furious at his wife for the entire past few seasons – told Logan about the siblings’ plans in advance.
