Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney recently attended her first-ever AFL game in Sydney. The 25-year-old, who is currently in Australia filming a new rom-com, took time out of her busy schedule to experience the popular sport firsthand.
The “Euphoria” star documented her experience on social media. She shared photos of herself, director Will Gluck, and actor Dermot Mulroney on the field of the Sydney Cricket Ground.
“Go to my first footy game (tick),” she captioned the post. Sweeney can be seen wearing a Swans scarf around her neck, showing her support for the local team.
She even got to meet some of the players of the Swans after their win against Hawthorn. After the game, the team warmly welcomed her into their change rooms, and she happily posed for photos with several players. This included Chad Warner, Errol Gulden, and Ollie Florent.
The Swans’ official TikTok account also shared a video of Sweeney with the players.
“When Sydney met the Swans,” the caption read.

But Sweeney wasn’t the only high-profile American in attendance at the game. Caroline Kennedy, daughter of the late American president John F. Kennedy, was also spotted in the stands. She was seen singing along in the stands to the song ‘Sweet Caroline’, which Neil Diamond wrote as an ode to her.
The US ambassador to Australia also went down to the rooms post-match and met with a number of players. Player Tom Hickey even gave her her very own Swans jersey with “Kennedy” on the back.
Sweeney is currently in the country as she continues to work on her next project. The unnamed romantic comedy directed by “Easy A” and “Friends With Benefits”’s Will Gluck.
