Who’s Who on The Bachelorette? Meet Caring Carissa
The Bachelorette Australia is always a whirlwind of romance and adventure, and this season is no exception.
For 30-year-old Carissa Croft, the journey has been a bit of a rollercoaster so far, and we can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
A psychologist from Queensland, Carissa works with at-risk youth, and felt “really drawn to” Brooke after seeing her on her previous seasons of The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise.
“I’m still waiting to meet the person I want to create and share a life with,” she said in a statement. “I saw Brooke was The Bachelorette and felt really drawn to her. She has many qualities that I am really attracted to, especially her caring nature towards young people.”
Carissa has been in love once before, but said that she believes they “were meant to help each other grow, but not stay together”.
“He supported me through a very difficult time,” she said. “We both challenged and supported each other to become better versions of ourselves.”
As for what she would bring to the table if Brooke were to pick her in the end, Carissa promised “a life of adventure”, which sounds fun to us!
Whether the pair can go the distance remains to be seen, though, especially after their recent one-on-one time. Although the date ended with a smooch, it didn’t appear that the sparks were really flying between the potential lovebirds.
After their conversation veered into some pretty heavy topics, Carissa felt that the kiss was a bit off because the timing wasn’t quite right.
Speaking to TV Week, Carissa said that she’d “wanted to get to know [Brooke] on a deeper level”, but the discussion of losing loved ones may have “brought up some sad memories” for them both.
“We were discussing some really deep topics in relation to grief and loss,” she says. “It didn’t feel like the right time.”
In hindsight, Carissa said that the connection between the pair felt “different this time” in comparison to their past interactions, musing: “it may have been better to keep the conversation light and fun”.
After the kiss, Brooke said that she felt “confused”.
“I felt this really strong connection with her at the start but I didn’t really feel that in the kiss,” she said.
Only time will tell if the spark between Brooke and Carissa has fizzled out for good, and you can catch all the drama as it unfolds on The Bachelorette Australia.
The Bachelorette Australia airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm, on 10 and 10 Play on Demand.
