“The Block” is back, and it’s time to take a groovy trip down memory lane to the 1950s in Australia! With its 19th season, the show will transport us to a time when bold styles and vintage charm ruled the day. Brace yourselves for some out-of-this-world transformations. That’s right, five creative couples will go head-to-head to renovate and revamp five retro homes nestled in the family-friendly suburb of Melbourne’s Hampton East.
Among these talented contestants are Kyle and Leslie.
Meet Kyle and Leslie on “The Block” 2023
These lovebirds first crossed paths at a happening nightclub twelve years ago, and sparks flew instantly. Fast forward to today, they’re happily married, proud parents to Luca, 11, and Archer, 7. Kyle and Leslie’s family journey took an unexpected turn when their youngest, Archer, was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. However, they faced the challenges head-on, becoming even stronger and more determined in the face of adversity.
Their passion for design and their unwavering dream of participating in “The Block” led them to apply for the show. Not once, not twice, but five times! And finally, after Luca’s “one last chance” wish, their dream came true.
Kyle, 36, Firefighter
Kyle is the epitome of dedication and hard work. His journey to becoming a firefighter was not an easy one, but he never gave up on his dream. When he’s not saving lives and being a hero, you can find him indulging in his love for sports, especially football. After a long day at work, there’s nothing he enjoys more than cosying up with his family and cheering for their favourite team.
Leslie, 34, Educational Assistant
Leslie brings warmth, humour, and charisma to the dynamic duo. Originally from Zimbabwe, she moved to Australia with her family 20 years ago, seeking new opportunities and adventures. Her vibrant personality and penchant for making friends wherever she goes make her a delightful addition to any group. Currently studying to become a teacher, Leslie is thrilled to embrace the renovating experience and build lasting connections with her fellow contestants on “The Block”.
What Kyle and Leslie Are Bringing to “The Block” 2023
Together, Kyle and Leslie have built a beautiful life filled with unique experiences, including a memorable trip to California in 2018. They cherish their adventures and love embarking on new ones as a team. While they might have occasional disagreements, their unyielding support for each other ensures that any arguments are short-lived and quickly replaced by constructive criticism and mutual understanding.
With their love, determination, and teamwork, Kyle and Leslie are ready to tackle “The Block” 2023 and create the home of their dreams.
