Meet the Young Actor Who’ll Portray Prince William in the Fifth Season of The Crown

The Crown‘s highly anticipated fifth season will follow the royal family through the 1990s, and the Emmy Award-winning series has now found the perfect person to play Prince William during that time.

After an extensive search, Senan West has won the coveted role and the casting couldn’t be more perfect seeing as he is the son of Dominic West, who is taking over the role of Prince Charles from Josh O’Connor. The part will mark Senan’s first-ever acting role.

According to Variety, who first broke the news of the casting, Senan will play a slightly older Prince William and will make his first appearance in the final episodes of the season. Timothee Sambor will apparently play a younger Prince William and Teddy Hawley will appear as Prince Harry

Prince William was just 15 years old when Princess Diana was tragically killed in a car accident in Paris, but the series producers have yet to confirm if her death will be included in the show. It could be that, instead, the script looks at the events leading up to and possibly following her passing.

Diana’s partner at the time, Dodi Al Fayed, was also killed in the accident and he will be played by Khalid Abdalla.

It was previously announced that Imelda Staunton will take on the role of Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Pryce will play Prince Philip, Lesley Manville will step into the role of Princess Margaret and Olivia Williams will portray Camilla Parker Bowles. Aussie actress Elizabeth Debicki will play Diana, Princess of Wales, replacing Emma Corrin.

The Crown swept the 2021 Emmys, winning a staggering 21 awards out of 63 nominations. Among the winners were Gillian Anderson, who took home the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama nod and Josh O’Connor who received the Outstanding Lead Actor in Drama prize.
