Beef Cake Alert: Can Your PC Even Run ‘The Last of Us Part 1’?
“The Last of Us Part 1” on PC is almost here (the release date is March 29!) and Sony has revealed the detailed system requirements and some of the PC-exclusive features.
“The Last of Us Part 1” PC Features
For starters, the PC version will support 4K resolution, ultrawide and super ultrawide monitors, upscaling with Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR 2.2, VSync and frame rate cap options, and adjustable texture quality, shadows, reflections, ambient occlusion, and more.
If you’re playing the PC version with a PS5 controller, you’ll also benefit from the DualSense’s haptic feedback and dynamic triggers. “The Last of Us Part 1” on PS5 used these features in an ingenious way by playing dialogue through the controller as haptic feedback. One of the game’s 60+ accessibility features, this let deaf and hearing impaired players feel whether a line was delivered softly or loudly, giving them more context in cutscenes.
You can also play with a range of other controllers, or a keyboard and mouse, or both! The PC version has an adaptive control mode that allows players to combine keyboard and controller inputs, which has big accessibility potential. And, of course, it has full control remapping and primary and secondary bindings for keyboard and mouse control.
“The Last of Us Part 1” PC Specs
It’s not surprising that you’ll need a pretty chunky rig to play it on the recommended or ultra specs. Thankfully, the minimum and performance specs are a bit more forgiving, but some PCs will struggle to run it. One constant across all quality presets is the size of the game, which is a whopping 100GB. Hope you have good internet for that download.
