Imagine Cluedo, but in real life. Sounds like my childhood fantasy, TBH. But for 24 players, this will be their reality; as they participate in Channel 10’s newest game show: The Traitors.
The Traitors sees a group of 24 players, also known as Faithfuls, live together in a grand old hotel where they will need to have their wits about them as they carry out challenges in order to win silver bars, contributing to a prize pool of silver worth up to $250,000.
They’ll also need to figure out which, among them, are actually Traitors.
Stakes are high, because if a Traitor makes it to the end undetected, they get to walk away with the lot. If a Faithful can successfully unmask a Traitor, however, and get rid of them before the final vote, they have the option to take all the prize money or split and share it with their final remaining Faithful.
Phew! Okay. So, who are the players competing on The Traitors? One of them is 25-year-old model, Alex, from South Australia.
Alex admits she’s “sassy and bossy with a dark sense of humour”.
Her modelling career kind of happened by accident, after applying to Miss Universe 2019 on an impulse; only to find herself in the national final.
“It wasn’t something I planned to get into,” she says in a press statement.
“I definitely stumbled upon the opportunity and thought I had nothing to lose but time and it opened up a lot of doors in terms of the fact, it gave me friends across the world and gave me opportunities to explore the more glamorous side of modelling.”
Alex hopes her modelling background will help her through the game and that her fellow players will think she’s just a pretty face and not see the strategy underneath the glamorous exterior.
“I want people to believe I’m a gentle, sweet and bubbly soul, and I don’t want them to know that underneath my sweetness, I’m actually cutthroat.”
Alex is excited to take risks she wouldn’t normally take in real life. She also reckons she’s “quite good” at detecting liars, which if true, could make her a real threat in the game.
