After three spectacular episodes, the winner of The Voice Generations has been crowned. The very first person to take home the title is father-daughter duo, Caitlin and Tim, from Team Rita.
The dynamic pair blew the audience away with their powerful rendition of Sia’s Alive, belting out every single high note with ease. Despite not being on his team, even Guy Sebastian was rooting for the two of them.
“I think the other artists on Generations are now probably sitting backstage and going ‘oh that was really good,’ so honestly I think you guys have put yourselves in the position to be the winners here because you really smashed it,” he said.
Rita, beaming with pride, said they are “the reason [she’s] come back to Australia”.
“I’m obsessed with their father-daughter relationship, I’m obsessed with their vulnerability, I think they both sing spectacularly well, and they deserve to be here”, Rita told the pair.
The competition was tough from the get-go, from teacher-student duo Jess and Kelsi from Team Jess, the Wenas from Team Guy, and the father-son team Ty and Eddie from Team Keith.
For the first time ever, The Voice Generations brought the country’s greatest voices from all age groups together on one stage, to perform in front of Keith Urban, Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian.
