Now, this is some casting methodology we can get behind. Thinking outside the box, Love Island Australia 2021 is accepting applications via Tinder profiles, in a move that is truly millennial-centric.
Tinder has been named the ‘Official Casting Partner’ of Love Island Australia 2021. The selected profiles will be added to a ‘Priority List’, which means they’re guaranteed to be seen by the casting team.
If your Tinder profile isn’t steamy enough as it is, this is the perfect nudge to up the flirt, as it could be your ticket to the Villa and cosying up by the Love Island pool with sexy Australian singles in minimal clothing.
Through July, singles on Tinder can apply for Love Island Australia’s 2021 series by making just one swipe right in-app, making their Tinder profile their first audition.
Swipe Cards will appear in between Tinder members’ stack of potential matches – so all you need to do is swipe right on the in-app casting call-out and your Tinder profile will be reviewed and verified by the Tinder team.
If your profile is then selected, Love Island hopefuls will be contacted via email. You’ll need to provide confirmation of details and then, you’ll be added to that golden ticket Priority List for the Love Island Australia casting team.
It’s unsurprising that Tinder members are avid Love Island fans. Love Island is basically real-life Tinder, where all your dates are in the one Villa and pretty much always in their bathers. Heaven. Mentions of ‘Love Island’ in Tinder bios grew by 14% month on month in April 2021, following the announcement that Love Island Australia would be coming back to screens.
“Partnering with Tinder for casting makes complete sense for Love Island Australia. Both brands are about looking for love and working with Tinder means we can cast our casting net far wider to find fun, fascinating and diverse people to join us in the Villa for Australia’s hottest dating show.” Adrian Swift, 9Network’s Head of Content, Production and Development, said.
“This is the first time we’ve worked with a dating app in this way, but it’s a perfect match: a partnership that works for Tinder, Channel 9 and most importantly, viewers and singletons across the country.”
If you’re a thirsty single, who loves a good flirt and is looking for a sexy boo, this might just be the opportunity for you.
