It has been said many times that “love conquers all” and it seems that Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker firmly agrees with this sentiment.
The musician posted a photo on his Instagram account in which he and his girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian are embracing in front of a private jet, with the caption: “With you anything is possible.”
While at a first glance it might just look like a normal day in the life of the rich and famous, the photo actually represents something far more significant.
The flight marks the first time Barker has flown since he was involved in a horrific plane crash on September 19, 2008.
The drummer, who had harboured a fear of flying his whole life, was travelling on a private plane after a performance when it crashed as it attempted to take off. Four of the six passengers on board the aircraft died, including two of Travis’s close friends — his security guard Charles “Che” Still and assistant Chris Baker — as well as both of the pilots.
Barker survived but more than 65 percent of his body was burnt and he underwent 27 surgeries during his months in hospital.
His close friend DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) also survived the crash but the trauma and his injuries caused him to relapse into substance abuse and he passed away from a drug overdose on August 28, 2009.
Barker had not taken a flight since, until now.
His followers were quick to acknowledge the achievement, with many writing words of encouragement underneath the post, many reiterating the sentiment that, yep, love conquers all!
As for Kardashian herself, she simply wrote: “Anything and everything with you.”
The loved up couple apparently took the flight from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico so we predict a few celebratory margaritas on the horizon.
