We must say we are just loving the current season of Beauty and the Geek so far. We’ve had a hunky makeover, some sweet connections, a cheeky kiss or two and, of course, the first elimination. Whew!
The series is a heartwarming look at whether opposites attract and sees 10 geeks and 10 beauties paired up in order to help each other get a physical and emotional glow up as they compete in challenges to win $100,000 prize money.
Hosted by Sophie Monk — who is engaged to her very own geek! — the show is full of tender moments while also giving viewers plenty of laughs, which is exactly what Monk promised when POPSUGAR Australia chatted to her ahead of the show’s launch.
“It’s just so hilarious watching opposites coming into each other’s worlds. You won’t laugh at them, but you will laugh because it’s just so funny,” she said. “And then the next minute you’re just in tears! It’s such a gorgeous show, so innocent and beautiful.”
Speaking of beautiful — the first makeover was exactly that with Kiran telling POPSUGAR Australia how he felt before he was “revealed.”
“I was standing behind those boards and I could hear them on the other side and my heart was beating through my chest, it was a lot!” he said.
Of course, being met with the support–and rapturous applause–of his castmates, and in particular, Bryanna, helped him to feel encouraged and supported.
“It was a good feeling!” he exclaimed. “It was really nice. I’m not used to having that kind of spotlight being put on me, and for the moment it was just really special.”
Naturally, we don’t want to miss a single special moment so if you are wanting to know when you can catch Beauty and the Geek, you need to be tuning into Channel 9 and 9Now Sundays at 7pm, and then Monday to Wednesday at 7.30pm. And, a word of advice? Bring tissues.
