The Real Love Boat Is Here to Slay — But When Does the Journey Begin?

If you ever stayed home from school and watched daytime telly, The Love Boat may ring a bell. It was a 1976 drama series that revolved around the love stories on board the luxury passenger cruise ship MS Pacific Princess and its passengers and crew.

Now, Channel 10 are giving it a comeback and turning it into a reality show called The Real Love Boat. They’ve even used the original theme song, but have jazzed it up into a more current dance bop.

Hosted by Darren McMullen, with help from Cruise Director Hannah Ferrier, Head of Entertainment Daniel Doody, and Princess Cruises’ Captain Paolo Arrigo, there’s plenty in store for the 20 hopeful singles that will be on board.

Here’s everything you need to know about The Real Love Boat ahead of its premiere.

What is The Real Love Boat?

Dubbed “Love Island, but on a boat”, The Real Love Boat is basically a boat filled with babes that are looking for love. What could possibly go wrong?

The Real Love Boat is to set sail to some of the world’s most romantic destinations — think Tuscany, the Greek Islands etc — looking to spark romance among its occupants.

But this dating reality show is not for the faint-hearted. Only the strongest connections will make it through to the end and potentially find their love story.

Each week, contestants will choose who they’d like to continue their Real Love Boat journey with, and only one couple will make it all the way to the end.
