Time sure does fly when you’re having fun, doesn’t it?
After weeks of witnessing the incredible home cooks battle it out to plate up the most mouthwatering dishes we have ever seen, the end is almost here for MasterChef Australia 2021.
That’s right, the winner for this year is about to be crowned, so who will it be?
Could it be Pete with his penchant for fine dining and finding the perfect intersection of art and cuisine?
Or perhaps it will be Kishwar with her endearing ability to bring the Bengali dishes of her childhood into today with a modern twist and buckets of love.
Sabina could also be a hot contender, with her no nonsense, down-to-earth style of cooking that is wildly impressive considering how young she is.
Justin, Linda, and Elise are also worthy competitors so it could truly be anyone’s game.
All will be revealed on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021, when the winner of MasterChef Australia will be revealed in what is sure to be one hell of a final showdown.
In the last elimination, fans were shocked to see Depinder Chhibber leave as she was one of the strongest contestants who was considered a shoo-in for the finale. However, she is now happily working alongside judge Andy Allen at his Three Blue Ducks restaurant and cites MasterChef as one of the most amazing experiences of her life.
Likewise, Minoli De Silva’s elimination threw us all for a loop early in the season, but the breast cancer survivor was able to win back her apron during second chance week.
Sadly, victory was not meant to be hers and De Silva was eliminated once more, but encourages anyone even thinking about applying for 2022 to just do it.
“Be authentic,” De Silva said to POPSUGAR Australia after her second elimination. “Don’t try to be anyone else, because there’s already someone out there that does that. The best thing that anyone can do is to listen to that seed of doubt telling them not to go for it, and then challenge it and just do it. Because that’s what I did, and I’ve never been more proud of myself,” adding, “It’s the best experience you probably ever go through.”
Added fellow eliminated contestant Scott Bagnell, “The biggest thing, which I did not practice before going into the kitchen, is practice cooking things quickly,” he advised. “Cooking is a hobby, and I just spent hours on the weekend playing — but you don’t have that time in the kitchen.”
Of course, applications for the 2022 season are now open, so if you are dreaming of getting into the kitchen and onto our screens you should definitely apply.
This season of MasterChef also saw an emotional turn when one of the most beloved contestants, Brent Draper, decided to exit the competition in order to prioritise his mental health. His departure sparked renewed conversations around men’s mental health and the importance of seeking support.
Be sure to watch the MasterChef Australia 2021 finale on Network Ten and 10Play on July 13, 2021, at 7.30 pm.
