SAS Australia is by far one of the most brutal reality shows on television right now, and while we’re not entirely sure why celebs would volunteer to put themselves through the pain and trauma, it does make for great entertainment.
Featuring personalities such as Sam Burgess and former Bra Boy Koby Abberton, this year, the recruits are forced to shed their previous life behind and bare it all for the cameras.
Former SAS soldiers Ant Middleton, Mark “Billy” Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox and Ollie Ollerton put the contestants through the absolute ringer, with many having already dropped out.
It’s not easy. Each recruit is known by a number, and are required to sleep at a campsite with very limited resources.
But while the show is definitely not for the week, what’s certain is that each person comes out stronger than they were going in.
The reality program initially started off with 18 contestants, but the number began to quickly drop, with many not being able to withstand the pressure.
Not only are the recruits challenged physically, but they also face a number of psychological challenges during interrogations by the directing staff.
