Get Hyped — We Now Know Where the Next Season of “Australian Idol” Was Filmed

Are you ready to become a superstar? No? Then are you ready to watch a bunch of Aussies attempt to become superstars? Yes? Excellent, because a new season of “Australian Idol” is kicking off in January of next year. 

“Australian Idol” is one of the most iconic singing shows to ever grace our shores. Back in 2003, it became the cultural zeitgeist when Guy Sebastian pipped Shannon Noll at the final post. Since then, the series has built up a reputation that keeps fans coming back for more.

Many “Australian Idol” fans are excited about this season, as one of its most beloved judges is returning. Marcia Hines, a panelist from the original run, is making a triumphant comeback. Beyond Idol, Marcia is known for her decades-spanning music career, which saw her win numerous ARIA Awards.

“It’s so good to be back,” Marcia said in an Instagram post. “I look forward to doing it.”

“We’ve got some amazing talent, and we really want you guys to tune in, ‘cause it’s about you too.”

However, one aspect of “Australian Idol” that’s not talked about often is its filming locations. Which begs the question: Where was the 2024 season of Australian Idol season filmed? It’s time to become superstar detectives and dive into the facts.

Where Was the 2024 Season of “Australian Idol” Filmed?

According to inside sources, “Australian Idol” began filming in Sydney on October 14. Numerous auditions took place at the Roslyn Packer Theatre in Walsh Bay.

The Roslyn Packer Theatre has a huge capacity, being able to seat up to 896 people. Beyond being a home for “Australian Idol,” it’s also a venue for the Sydney Theatre Company, the Sydney Dance Company, and the Sydney Writers’ Festival.

However, it’s believed that “Australian Idol” will extend its filming locations well beyond the borders of Sydney. Like in previous seasons, “Australian Idol “is expected to be filmed in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, and the Gold Coast.

The next season of “Australian Idol” will premiere next year on Monday, January 29, 2024. The premiere will be available on both Channel 7 and the 7 Plus app.
