Farmer Wants a Wife Finale: Three Farmers Got Their Happily Ever After

Farmer Wants a Wife — AKA my favourite Australian dating show — is back in full swing, and this year’s farmers might just take the cake. They’re all such catches!

This season, we’ve been following Farmer Ben, 27, from Wingham, NSW, Farmer Harry, 24, from Kyabram, VIC, Farmer Will, 26, from Berriwillock, VIC, Farmer Benjamin, 33, from Guyra, NSW, and Farmer Paige — the show’s first female farmer — who’s 28 and from Cassilis, NSW.

It’s crazy to think that we’re already at the 2022 Farmer Wants a Wife season finale. It always feels like such a whirlwind. And if it feels like that for us viewers — imagine what it must feel like for the farmers themselves!

While Farmer Benjamin had to end his journey for love following the death of his beloved grandma and his own health struggle, and Farmer Paige chose to leave the show after not getting clear signs of interest from her men, we were still left with three farmers on the noble quest for love.

Farmer Ben, Farmer Harry and Farmer Will each visited their final two ladies’ hometowns, getting to see them in their natural habitats and meet their family and friends.

And, while some of their connections clearly grew stronger; it’s always hard to tell exactly how love is going to unfold.

Farmer Harry and Tess

Farmer Harry went to visit both Bronte and Tess. With Bronte, his main concerns were their age gap (he’s 23, she’s 27) and that she would want to have a family right away, whereas he still needs time to find himself and travel the world.

With Tess, his concern lay in the fact that she’s finishing up her studies and wouldn’t be able to immediately move to the farm, which would mean long distance for a period of time.

Ultimately he chose Tess, who he’s had a strong connection with from the start. “I love you,” he told her, “and I want to spend my life with you.”

Farmer Ben and Leish

Farmer Ben’s final two women — Kiani and Leish — seem to have equally strong connections with him, but the hometowns put that into question.

While both women admit to falling in love with Farmer Ben and wanting to spend their lives with him, Kiani says that she’s ready to drop everything and move to the farm; while Leish doesn’t want to leave her life in Brisbane right away.

“My head’s telling me one thing and my heart’s telling me another,” he said, during tonight’s finale episode.

Ultimately, Ben chose Leish — who has been his #1 since day one.

“It was a stand out moment, your hair and your eyes just popped out right away,” Farmer Ben told Leish on their very first one-on-one. And while his head may have been telling him Kiani, Farmer Ben just couldn’t deny his connection with Leish.

Farmer Will and Jess

Farmer Will went to meet both Madi and Jess’s family. And while Madi would be the perfect girlfriend/wife/farm mum, Will and Jess’s fun and electric energy shone through on their hometown date.

Although it was clear that Farmer Will was genuinely torn between both women, having pros and cons for each, he ultimately chose Jess. Slightly riskier, having more doubts about moving to the farm than Madi, Jess and Will’s connection was too strong to deny. Sometimes its not the simple and easy choice, right?

He did make his decision, and while it’s clear he’s in love with Jess (he told her on national TV but also, did you see his eyes!?), he did struggle to let Madi go. “I do adore you,” he said, tearfully. “It breaks my heart to do this.”

What an emotional rollercoaster this season has been. With three out of five farmers finding their happily ever after, we’re still holding hope that Farmer Benjamin has kept in touch with his lovely ladies and that Farmer Paige has found a man that doesn’t play mind games.

I guess we’ll find out in tomorrow’s reunion episode!
