Welcome back to Bayside, folks! Saved by the Bell is joining the countless number of classic sitcoms getting a reboot in the time of network streaming services and the cast is looking pretty familiar. The series will explore the fallout after Zack Morris, who is somehow the governor of California now, runs into trouble for closing too many low-income high schools. He proposes the affected students be sent to the highest-performing schools in the state – which happens to include his alma mater, Bayside High. While there isn’t an announced premiere date for the show, the NBC streaming site Peacock is set to launch in April. So there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing the halls of Bayside High this year.
When the reboot was announced back in September 2019, Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley were already signed on to reprise their iconic roles as A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano. Several months down the line and it looks like the reboot will be a true Bayside High reunion with some fresh faces tagging along!
Alongside the Saved by the Bell vets, Haskiri Velazquez, Alycia Pascual-Pena, and Belmont Cameli have all been tapped to round out the main cast. Velazquez will play Daisy, an ambitious sophomore who is excited to attend Bayside High after her local school gets shut down; Pascual-Pena plays Aisha, Daisy’s ultra-competitive best friend who causes a stir when she tries to play football at Bayside; and Cameli will play Jamie Spano, captain of the Bayside football team and Jessie’s “sensitive man-child” son.
Check out all the stars who are joining the sequel series and keep your eyes out for an official premiere date!

Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack Morris
Gosselaar officially joined the reboot in January, reprising his role as Zack Morris. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Gosselaar will appear in three episodes and be credited as a producer.
Now a California governor, Zack is the catalyst for Bayside High opening its doors to low-income high-school students. Well-known for being kind of the worst, we’re excited to see how Zack has grown since his high-school days!

Berkley’s return was announced along with the series reveal. No clues on what Jessie has been up to since her college days, but we’re betting Berkley is pretty excited to bring back the character. (You see what we did there?)
