On April 5, multiple outlets reported that the 27-year-old actor is engaged to celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton. In an interview with The New York Times, published on March 9, he said, “I’m a pretty open book about most things in my life, but I have a problem with the culture of everyone needing to know everybody’s business and nothing can be sacred. It’s a weird line that I’m still trying to figure out.”

He's Reportedly Engaged to Celebrity Hairstylist Chris Appleton

Gage and Appleton first sparked dating rumors in late February 2023 after the actor posted photos of the two on a Mexican getaway vacation. After they attended Vanity Fair and TikTok’s A Night For Young Hollywood party together on March 8, Appleton confirmed the pair’s romance during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” via a clip shared on March 15. Then, on April 5, multiple outlets reported their engagement news, with one source telling Us Weekly, “They’re not telling the public yet, but they have told friends they are engaged.” Reps for Gage did not respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment (reps for Appleton could not be reached).

He Isn't a Fan of Being Famous

Though Gage enjoys the craft of acting, he’s not a big fan of the fame that comes with it. “I like doing interviews. I like conversations like this. But the thing that gets hard as I’m becoming more of a public figure is navigating a public versus private life,” he admitted to The Hollywood Reporter. “I never want to feel like I’m hiding or trying to cover up anything, but I have to keep some things for myself.”
