Does Australia have a new favourite show? If the premiere ratings are anything to go by, perhaps!
Based on the British reality series of the same name, Hunted is Network 10’s latest reality competition program that asks the question: “Could you disappear without a trace?”
For the 18 Australians on this season of Hunted, they’ll soon find out.
Hunted plonks nine pairs of regular, everyday Aussies in the middle of the Melbourne CBD with nothing but $500 and an overnight bag to their name. From there, the aim of the game is to evade capture and survive for 21 days. The problem? The people hunting them down are specialists who have years of experience in the field.
While our fugitives have limited funds and resources at their disposal, the team hunting them down has a decent advantage: They’re some of the world’s best investigators from the Australian Federal Police, Australian Defence Force and British Intelligence, and leading them is The Chief, Former Detective Superintendent David Craig (not to be confused with Daniel Craig, aka James Bond). No big deal, but he’s an internationally recognised expert in surveillance and covert operations.
Also on the team are skilled cyber analysts, special ops and private security, and they’re all using their expertise and replicated powers of state.
It’s a thrilling game of cat-and-mouse, where our fugitives have to remain on the run, keeping the Hunters off their trail. They can go anywhere in Victoria, but they’ll need to be smart if they want to remain under the radar.
If the fugitives can evade capture for 21 days, they will win a share of $100,000. Of course, not everyone will make it to the finish line. Here’s everyone who’s been eliminated on Hunted so far. Stay tuned, and we’ll update this post throughout the season as more of our fugitives get caught.
