If You Crave Being Cozily Wrapped in a Gentle Hug All Night Long, You’ve Got to Try The Hug Sleep Pod

I can’t sleep without a certain number of pillows, an eye mask, and noise-canceling ear plugs. Yeah, I’m pretty high-maintenance when it comes to sleep, but I don’t care! I found what works, and I’m sticking with it, because sleep is so important for our health.

So when I was sent a Hug Sleep Pod Move (US$90) to try, I thought this was something totally different I could use to enhance my sleep even more. I was so excited to try it out that first night. Keep reading to find out what it’s like to sleep in.

What's It Like to Sleep in a Hug Sleep Pod Move?

From the first few seconds after pulling on the Hug Sleep Pod Move, I felt instantly calm, cozy, and sleepy. I hopped onto my couch, closed my eyes, and just soaked in all the relaxation and comfort. It felt so lovely, just chilling on the couch, and it was magical wearing it while reading, listening to music or a podcast, and watching my fave shows.

Sleeping in the Hug Sleep Pod Move took a few nights to get used to. I liked starting out with both my feet covered, because the coziness helped me fall asleep instantly. But an hour or so later, I’d stick one or both feet out so I didn’t overheat.

Does a Hug Sleep Pod Move Feel Too Constricting?

The fabric is super stretchy, so as you can see from the photo, I was still able to bend my knees and separate my legs. But unlike a regular blanket that tends to slide off, or a weighted blanket, the Hug Sleep Pod Move stayed secure around me, so I found I could fall back asleep faster when I’d wake up in the middle of the night.

What If You Need to Use the Bathroom While Wearing the Hug Sleep Pod Move?

Speaking of waking up in the middle of the night, the opening at the bottom of the Sleep Pod Move allowed me to pull it up over my knees, so I could safely walk to the bathroom. It felt a little like I was wearing a long pencil skirt, and scuttling along in small steps, but it was totally doable. When I hopped back in bed, I just pulled the fabric back down over my feet so I could get all cocooned and cozy.

Does It Get Too Hot Sleeping With a Hug Sleep Pod Move?

Since there is an opening on both the top and bottom of the Hug Sleep Pod Move, I could let one or both arms out, or one or both feet out if I got too hot. I was able to sleep wearing it in AC during the summer, but I know it’ll feel even cozier once the temps begin to drop. If you’ve ever gotten too hot while sleeping with a weighted blanket, this could be a great alternative.

What Is the Hug Sleep Pod Move Made of?

The fabric of the Hug Sleep Pod Move is similar to super soft, stretchy, and lightweight workout pants. I love that it’s machine-washable. It feels like the most comfortable pair of leggings, but it’s more like one big leg for your entire body.

Would I Recommend a Hug Sleep Pod Move?

If you’re the type of sleeper who loves feeling super cozy in PJS under a blanket, you’ll love the Hug Sleep Pod. It just feels so nice to be hugged by this stretchy fabric; it feels like a form of self-care. And coupled with the self-care of getting enough sleep, this is one of the best products for supporting self-care I’ve ever used.

I will say that if you share your bed with someone, wearing a Hug Sleep Pod Move doesn’t exactly send the sexiest message. It could get in the way of intimacy because after you pull it on, and you feel instantly calm and sleepy, you won’t want to pull it off! Your partner may not appreciate that, but that just may mean you need to order one for them, too!
