Alexandra Shipp in Christian Siriano's Polka Dots Is a Retro Fashion Dream Come True

While Christian Siriano walked the CFDA Fashion Awards red carpet with Drew Barrymore in New York City, Tick, Tick… Boom! star Alexandra Shipp was showing up for the designer in Los Angeles at her own premiere, flaunting his retro polka dots. Shipp’s stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn helped her dress up in prints all day long for press, swapping a colourful ’90s archival set for this green Siriano masterpiece of an ensemble in the evening.

The look in question came with a balconette-style bra; a cropped bolero jacket; a matching roped pouch; sheer, mesh gloves that extended to the bicep; and a high-waisted mermaid skirt that exploded to the floor upon layers of netting and tulle. Mandelkorn and Shipp selected gold Jennifer Fisher jewellery to complete the ensemble, adding chunky rings over the gloves to stand out when the actress shed her layers.

The outfit was badass and beautiful all at once, and clearly stole the spotlight from the rest of the crew, which included costars Vanessa Hudgens in Vera Wang and Andrew Garfield in a deep-burgundy Dunhill suit.
