Ashley Park struck gold with her latest outfit. On May 6, the actor made an appearance at Gold House’s second annual Gold Gala, wearing a slinky black cutout gown held together by metallic pineapples. The Roberto Cavalli number featured beige sleeves that fastened at her collarbone and matching material that wrapped around her hips. The rest of the dress featured flowy black fabric, a thigh-high leg slit, and four bedazzled pineapple decals keeping the bodice in one piece.
Styled by Erin Walsh, Park kept the look glamorous and playful, accessorizing with a collection of ear cuffs, dangly earrings, several gold rings, black open-toe platform pumps, and a glittery handbag. Hairstylist Clayton Hawkins gave her big Hollywood waves with a side part for the event.
While they happened to fit the theme perfectly, the pineapples on Park’s dress actually turned out to be more than just a sweet design. According to Elle, they reminded her of bridges, with the Gold Bridge being the theme of this year’s gala. But on a more sentimental note, she said pineapples are her mom’s favorite food, which meant the gown “felt like a fun homage to her.” Park even brought her parents with her as her dates for the night, saying her dress “makes me feel elevated while being super comfortable – just in case it gets fun on the dance floor!”
Read on to see how the star paid tribute to her family in the most fashionable way.
