Popping on a fresh dressing gown or robe, whatever you like to call it, after a hot shower in a hotel is one of my favourite experiences, ever. The fluffy fabric on my skin and being in a place far away from my normal day-to-day make for one seriously stress-relieving combination. Naturally, I’ve tried to replicate the sensation at home, and I’ve worked out that it all comes down to that dressing gown.
So, to help you find the right one, I’ve rounded up some of my personal favourites. From fluffy and cream-coloured, to bright and with sunflowers, this is my edit of the best dressing gowns.
Cozy Plush Mid Length Robe
Made from a plush fleece fabric, the Cozy Plush Mid Length Robe ($84.95) from Papinelle will keep you warm this winter. The classic shawl collar is padded with extra fabric for added snugness.
Livin Fleece Robe
This candy-striped robe ($71.99) from Bonds is comfortable and consciously made from sustainable materials.
French Flax Linen Robe
For hotter days, try this breathable French Flax Linen Robe ($119). Crafted from European Flax fibres, the material is lightweight and flattering on any body.
Leah Fleece Robe
Give your mornings a colourful pop with the Leah Fleece Robe ($69.95) from Soho. “So soft and snuggly, you won’t want to take it off!!!” said one happy buyer on the Myer website. There’s room for snacks too in its two functional front pockets.
Auringonkukka Beach Robe
Made from 100% cotton, wrap yourself in this kimono-style robe ($339) that features a delightful sunflower print designed by Maija Isola.
Cotton Terry Bathrobe
Relax in pure luxury with this 100% cotton designer bathrobe ($890) from Bottega Veneta.
Hooded Bath Robe
Part of FARFETCH’s Conscious Edit, the Tekla Terry Hooded Bathrobe ($305) is warming, comfy and made from 50% organic materials. This dressing gown pick is perfect to wear when you’re fresh out of the shower as the built-in hood helps to soak up moisture from wet hair.
Supersoft Luxury Towelling Robe
Dry off while you chill with Sheridan’s Supersoft Luxury Towelling Robe ($159.99). It’s absorbent and thick, so you can step straight out of the shower and pop this on.
Vintage Palm Kimono Robe
Treat your bridesmaids, loved ones or yourself to this gorgeous palm treed patterned Short Kimono Robe ($79) from Piyama. The rayon fabric is smooth to touch and great to wear when getting ready for a special event.
Waffle Knit Gown
Snuggly, fluffy waffled textured goodness, the Big W &me Women’s Waffle Knit Gown ($32) is your budget friendly dressing gown alternative.
