This week, Bimini Bon Boulash has proven once again that they deserve the title of the queen of London fashion. The self-proclaimed “bendiest bitch” and “plant-based princess” made a huge splash not only sitting front row at London Fashion Week, but also walking in Richard Quinn’s spring 2022 show.
Whilst they didn’t take home the crown during their season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, they won over our hearts with their witty personality, deadpan humour, and avant guarde fashion choices. For them, fashion is an art form, a tool of self-expression, and this has been reiterated with the fabulous outfits that they blessed us with at London Fashion Week.
Fashion should always be about taking risks and this is exactly what Bimini delivered. Each of their looks was the perfect combination of unpredictable and gorgeous. Coming from a working-class background (something that they’ve discussed both on Drag Race and in their music), Bimini’s access to fashion came through magazines and YouTube, which instilled in them the importance of creating something original. Now, most of their designs are created custom in collaboration with East London designers.
Bimini pushes the envelope when it comes to their fashion choices, which is what the industry should always be about. You can never guess what they’ll strut out in next, which makes it all the more exciting. Read on to devour their best outfits during London Fashion Week. We’re sure Bimini will steal your heart all over again.

Soft and Floral While Front Row at Yuhan Mang Spring 2022
The delicate ruffles and floral detail of this Yuhan Wang dress and accompanying hat from Stephen Jones Millinery transports us to a wedding in the ’80s, and we mean that in the best possible way.
The ’80s was all about excess and this outfit is giving us everything we could have ever asked for. It’s combination of soft details and striking accessories, like the luxe purple heels and large “SEX” choker, is a fashion risk that paid off.

A Grungy Rock Star Front Row at KNWLS Spring 2022
Bimini and their team have perfectly combined some of today’s current trends with the inclusion of a platinum blonde mullet, a (vegan) leather-look jacket, a butterfly chain belt, and French tip nails. Bimini looks like they should be the lead singer of a grungy rock band and we can’t get enough (we also must know what lip shade they’re wearing).

Chic and Sophisticated While Front Row at ERDEM Spring 2022
Bimini looks every bit the old Hollywood star in this sophisticated number with a modern twist.
This outfit is reminiscent of Christian Dior’s New Look, which introduced tight cinched waists and billowing skirts in 1947. During this period prints were back in a big way after the drab colours of the war time. Florals were particularly popular, which were often contrasted with a plain-coloured knit top. Of course Bimini has made sure to add their own take on this look with their platform ballet shoes.

Old-School Floral at the Perfect Magazine Party
Bimini consistently plays with the boundaries with each of their looks. While this style of floral print may remind people of their grandparent’s sofa and is often considered out of fashion, this is exactly what makes it camp.
The outfit’s kitsch and the unique shape of the gown adds some extra drama. Bimini looks stunning with their long platinum blowout, too.

Striking and Sophisticated at the Fashion East and Dazed Party
Bimini looks like your fashionable and mysterious relative who only visits at Christmas time to hand over expensive gifts. They have beautifully incorporated florals in their outfit once again, this time with the help of the sophisticated Caitlyn Opera Coat Mikado from Erdem. The platform heels, short-cropped hair, and yellow sunglasses add a nice Bimini touch.

Show-Stopping on the Richard Quinn Spring 2022 Runway
This look can only be described as powerful, and Bimini looks every inch the queen that they are. The colour purple has been associated with royalty, power, and wealth for centuries, so this feels incredibly fitting. Videos circulating online show that Kate Moss is even a fan, as she could be seen smiling from ear to ear as Bimini strutted by.
Bimini’s emotional Instagram caption about this moment makes it all the more special. They wrote: “A little queer kid who never thought they’d get an opportunity to do things like this is walking in fashion week. I’ve had the most amazing time and I feel like all my dreams are coming true.”
