These Are the 5 Bridal Trends You’ll See Everywhere In 2022

One thing we can’t wait for post-lockdown is all the wedding energy.
Our Instagram feeds are going to be full of all the gorgeous imagery of couples finally able to get married after a rocky two years of restrictions.
But what will our 2022 brides be wearing?
We chatted to fashion designer Jess Andreatta whose label, J.Andreatta, specialises in Australia bridal and red carpet couture. Jess let us in on what she predicts will be trending for brides in 2022.
“Given the current environment, brides are frequently being required to postpone, alter and reschedule their weddings, therefore priorities have changed and that will very much be reflected in their gowns,” she told POPSUGAR Australia.
“I think strong trends for 2022 will be anything that symbolises breaking traditions and a sense of liberation.”
In her own creative process, Jess likes to seek inspiration from a vast range of avenues such as travel, architecture, movies, different eras and everyday fashion, which helps her to stay innovative and not be too swayed by current bridal trends.
In her latest collection, ‘Studio 421’, she’s been inspired by the disco era of Studio 54 which was sparked by rediscovering Cher in a sparkly cut-away top and pants. You can shop her new collection here.

Experimenting with Colours
As traditional weddings become less frequent, we’re going to see people playing around with wedding dress colours. Instead of opting for the traditional white, brides will want to show off their individual personalities and have a unique wedding look that will stick in minds as unconventional and fabulous.
Shorter Hemlines
Wedding dresses with shorter hemlines are becoming increasingly popular. They have a more fun ‘party’ style to them and can often play with tradition and modernity.
Playing with hemlines can be fun, too, and we’re seeing that more and more. A shorter wedding dress with a floor-length veil is just one trendy way that we can experiment with hemline length.
Statement Accessories
Statement shoes and earrings are a fun way to add a pop of colour to your wedding look, especially if you’re going for something simple and classic. There is nothing sexier than a hot pink shoe or mismatched earrings to cut through the traditional occasion and make it your own.
Multiple Looks
A night look and an evening look, darling. It’s your big day, so why not have some outfit changes? Brides who want to cherish their dress forever may want to wear something different after the ceremony, while others may want something more comfy to party in at the reception.

Twin-sets are all the rage at the moment and it’s the same for wedding attire. Matching pants and top or a skirt and top combo are becoming quite frequent wedding looks and can often be worn again after the wedding.
