Tom Daley has become somewhat of a knitwear maven this year, and the internet has been truly here for it. It all started back in lockdown, when the diver said that he’d taken to knitting to help with mindfulness – and during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Daley’s knitting went viral. Now? It appears that the athlete is set to start his own line of knitwear products.
Daley shared a teaser image on his adorable knitting account, @madewithlovebytomdaley, with the words “launching soon” plastered across it. For many of us, our first thoughts were a collection of handmade Tom Daley knits for everyone, but it turns out that it’s not quite the case. Tom Daley is instead launching 15 knit kits for beginners all the way to intermediate knitters. Each kit comes with all the needles, yarn, and the knitting patterns you need to create your own homemade masterpieces.
In September this year, Daley shared a video of himself knitting just moments before the iconic Met Gala, and prior to that, he shared a tutorial video on how to make his signature Olympic medal cosy. In the last few months, he’s also shown off a Team GB knitted jumper and a cardigan inspired by Harry Style’s JW Anderson look.
It seems only natural then, that the Olympic medallist would take things a step further, and release his own designs.
