Just days before their Netflix docuseries release, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were honored at the Ripple of Hope Gala in New York City. On Dec. 6, the philanthropic pair attended the event to receive the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award for their commitment to racial equity, human rights, and social change. Wearing a custom off-the-shoulder white gown by Louis Vuitton, the Duchess of Sussex selected a classically beautiful ensemble for the occasion as usual. The long-sleeve dress featured a draped skirt and leg slit, which revealed her elegant pointed-toe black heels.
Markle kept the rest of her accessories simple, pairing the white piece with sparkly drop earrings and a small black clutch. She finished the outfit with a sleek, braided updo and neutral makeup. By her side, Harry also chose a clean, classic look in a sharp black suit and skinny black tie.
The “Archetypes” podcast host is almost always dressed in monochromatic styles, often choosing white as her head-to-toe color. Ahead of the 2022 Invictus Games in April, Markle wore a white power suit from Valentino for her first joint visit with Harry to Europe since stepping away from their working royal duties. Memorably, in June 2019, she donned a white trench dress while introducing her son Archie to the world.
Most recently, at a benefit for the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana on Nov. 29, Markle stunned in an emerald-green cutout dress by Giorgio Armani and bright-purple Manolo Blahnik pumps. Her choice of colors at the event likely spoke to her support for empowering young women, as green, purple, and white represent the suffragettes at Women’s Sunday in June 1908.
