As it turns out, Miley Cyrus wasn’t supposed to wear black slacks and a bralette on the Marc Jacobs Fall 2020 runway. Marc recently shared some behind-the-scenes fitting videos from before the show, one of them including his prep with Miley.
“Miley’s fittings. Part 1. This is where we started. Me putting Miley in a very elaborate rhinestone dress. Not a good look for her at all. And so began a real collaboration between us. One that would make us both happy and please our hearts and souls. One with integrity and reason and voice. But, more about that later,” he captioned the film, which was shot by Giovanni Cardenas and shared with POPSUGAR.
Even though, from the looks of it, Miley can strut proudly in anything – she would’ve done any of the ’60s-inspired pieces justice – she clearly had her own say in the matter. She ended up debuting leather gloves and a printed coat that she dragged behind her on the floor. My first thought when I saw her entrance was, “Damn, that look is so Miley.”
Even though the rhinestone dress did debut on the catwalk earlier in the show, Miley wasn’t meant for the see-through shift – not when her incredible attitude came through so suitably in those low-rise trousers, her hips swinging from side to side with purpose. It’s safe to say Miley and Marc were both happy about her runway walk in the end. Scroll to watch the short video that shows the beginning of a collaboration between two awesome forces of fashion.
