Olivia Rodrigo won big at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. The 19-year-old “Drivers License” singer snagged the award for female artist of the year and, of course, looked amazing while doing so in a Versace minidress. The singer often opts for 2000s-inspired ensembles, and this purple number from the Milan fashion house’s fall 2022 collection was no different. The vibrant minidress matched the background of her “Sour” album cover, so it’s fitting that she wore it to accept the award.
The mini came in the sleek bustier silhouette that the Versace brand is known for. To add some edge to her look, Rodrigo styled the dress with a pair of skintight latex leggings and a pair of black pointed-toe Mary Jane platforms with multiple buckles. The singer accessorised with silver rings, leaving her neck bare. Rodrigo’s makeup artist, Lilly Keys, had some fun with her red carpet makeup with an asymmetrical graphic black-liner look. Her hairstylist, Clayton Hawkins, pulled her locks back into a high wavy ponytail and added nostalgic black hair clips along her bangs to tie into the Y2K aesthetic.
Keep reading to get a closer look at Rodrigo’s outfit, then reminisce about the singer’s previous moment in Versace at the VMAs back in September 2021, when she repurposed a vintage coral-magenta gown from the spring/summer 2001 collection complete with a mermaid train and giant butterfly earrings.
