Rachel Zegler is getting her Oscars moment after all. After she initially publicised that she wasn’t invited to the award show despite “West Side Story”‘s seven nominations, the Academy extended an invite to the actor as a presenter. While it may have been last minute, Zegler still managed to choose a standout look for her Oscars debut.
Styled by Sarah Slutsky, the actor wore a sheer black couture gown from Christian Dior’s spring 2022 collection paired with a gold choker and rings. The sleeveless scoop-neck dress sparkled from every angle, featuring diamond appliqués and an open back, a far departure from her original planned outfit.
Prior to getting invited to the ceremony, when asked by a fan on Instagram what she’d be wearing Oscars night, she had responded, “i’m not invited so sweatpants and my boyfriend’s flannel.” Fortunately, she was able to rock a dreamy gown instead.
