When we think of the Met Gala, there’s no doubt that Rihanna comes to mind. The singer always manages to bring her A-game and turn heads on the red carpet with her daring fashion choices. She’s basically become the queen of the Met Gala, and we’re totally here for it.
Rihanna isn’t afraid to take risks with her fashion, and that’s what we love most about her. She’s always pushing boundaries and making bold statements with her outfits. Remember that time she wore that yellow cape dress by Guo Pei that basically took up the entire staircase? Iconic.
And who can forget her Comme des Garçons dress with the sculptural floral motif? We’re still not entirely sure how she managed to sit down in that thing, but fashion isn’t always practical.
Then, there was her papal-inspired outfit by Maison Margiela. We’re pretty sure the Vatican was shaking in their boots when they saw how effortlessly she pulled off that mitre.
Most recently, in 2021, she wore an oversized coat dress by Balenciaga and topped off the look with a stunning diamond necklace. Minimalist, yet impactful — we wouldn’t expect anything less.
Let’s take a look back at some of her most memorable, iconic, and notable Met Gala outfits.
