Sofia Richie has certainly been busy. Fresh from her engagement party last week, she is getting ready to launch an exclusive summer edit with high street favourite River Island. Richie, 23, has curated a collection full of modern classics in earthy tones that will fit seamlessly into your existing wardrobe and see you through your social summer calendar.
The model and fashion designer, who has walked the runway for Chanel, Yeezy, and Dolce & Gabbana, stars in the campaign, which was shot in Joshua Tree, CA, by Clara Balzary, who just happens to be the daughter of Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea. The edit marks a new era for the fashion brand as oversize linen suits, cut-out tailored dresses, and casual LBDs offer a more sophisticated take on the season.
Her latest career move comes just weeks after she announced her engagement to music executive Elliot Grainge on Instagram with the caption, ‘Forever isn’t long enough.’ The couple have been dating for just over a year before the 28-year-old popped the question on a beach with a large emerald-cut diamond ring. The pair are said to have been friends for years, as Grainge is good friends with Richie’s brother, Miles.
Just last week, the newly engaged couple threw a party to celebrate, complete with grazing boards, floral cake, and bespoke cocktails with friends thought to include her sister Nicole in attendance. If this is how the engagement bash looks, we can’t wait to see what the wedding will be like.
Richie previously dated Scott Disick, the ex of Kourtney Kardashian, for three years despite their 16-year age gap. Just a few hours after Richie posted her engagement photo, Disick posted an image of him in a speedboat alongside the caption, ‘In the 305 just call me good luck chuck’, in reference to the rom-com “Good Luck Chuck”. The character in the film is notorious for dating women who end up finding love with the man they meet after him. . . .
Richie’s move into fashion edits is set to continue, with the model already working on projects for Desenio and Frankies Bikinis, but we are excited to see her on our shores. If this summer you’re looking for that cool, Californian vibe, then look no further than Richie’s edit for River Island. Whether you’re heading on holiday or praying for a sun-soaked summer in the UK, you can rest assured your wardrobe will be sorted.
River Island, edited by Sofia Richie, launches exclusively in select stores and online on 9 June.
