Good news for those who like warmer weather: spring is right around the corner, starting September 1. And with an official start of a new season, for many, comes an ideal time to freshen up our wardrobes.
It’s a time to give away or store the clothes that don’t suit the temperature anymore and break out the items that do. Oh, and fill in the gaps with everything we’re wanting for our new season’s wardrobe, of course.
So, with that in mind, and to help inspire your fashion buys this spring, the POPSUGAR Australia team thought it worth sharing what they’ve bought to update their closet. From an investment pair of designer slides to a timeless zebra print bikini, here’s what we added to cart this month.

I’m going to a wedding in October and have been obsessing over what to wear to it for months now. Wedding guest outfits have very specific criteria in that they need to go from day to night seamlessly, to be comfy for all-day wearing, and most importantly, you need to be able to dance in them. A spring wedding also means that it needs to be warm enough for a chilly night, without making you hot during the day. A friend recently linked me to Billy J Boutique, and while I haven’t purchased the dress yet, I think my winner might be their Cali One Shoulder Dress in pale pink.

Yes, it’s not entirely bikini weather yet, but I loved this bikini when I saw online and thought I’d get it before it sells out, which it no doubt will. I live a few minutes’ walk from the beach, so I can never have too many bikinis, and I know I’ll wear this one for years. Though it is a bold zebra print, I feel like the black and white tones and the cut of it make it timeless.

I’m loving Oroton these days. The Australian brand is chic, refined and classic — all the things I look for when investing in handbags and accessories. I fell in love with the Audrey Bucket Bag, not just because of its shape and style, but for the periwinkle blue colour, which caught my eye immediately. I don’t wear a lot of colour, so this is the perfect way to inject some pastels into my wardrobe, while still keeping it subtle.

I didn’t intend to buy these pants, but as soon as I tried them on, I was sold. They’re super comfy and long, which is great for the cooler spring days, but the material is lightweight and airy, so I can even wear them in summer. They are high-waisted, so are perfect for a cute crop top or to tuck a cami into. Also, just look at that pattern! It’s so cute. Perfect for spring! Bring on the blooms!

In preparation for spring, I bought this oversize collared trench coat, featuring long sleeves with tabs. It has front welt pockets, a belt in the same fabric and a double-breasted button fastening at the front. I needed a lightweight trench that wasn’t a thick winter coat, so this is perfect as we transition from winter into spring. It falls into the neutral category, although it gives off a really soft army green, which I love. I tend to dress really tonal, so the injection of colour is fun!

Let me start by saying I know Gucci loafers are an exxy purchase, but I’m a big advocate for investing in shoes, handbags and accessories that you’ll use for years to come. I wear loafers a lot because they’re a great transeasonal shoe and I find them perfect to wear this time of year — especially into the office — as we move from winter into spring. So I decided to splash out and get myself a designer pair, and I’ve worn them nearly every day already. How else do you get the price per wear down?

I felt like after finally seeing some sunshine this winter, my wardrobe needed a pop of colour to inject some dopamine dressing into my life. I bought this green knit jumper from Dazie because it is THE colour of the season and can be mixed and matched for the office or something more casual on the weekend.

This month, I experienced a massive shopping #win, finding a discontinued black version of this Balmain knit dress at a truly “fell off the back of a truck” discount). Yes, it was still $$$, but I’ve been wearing it non-stop. The ribbed knit is incredibly flattering and comfortable, and the high neck, long sleeves and subtle shoulder pads balance out the short length. It’s very sexy, very comfortable and makes me feel amazing. I pair it with sheer stockings (these ones from Falke are ladder-resistant and come in six sizes) and calf or mid-ankle length boots, like these from Tony Bianco.

I am obsessed with Arms of Eve, the Australian jewellery brand that Bella Hadid and Hailey Beiber have both been spotted in. I’ve been wearing this choker by itself or layered with other gold necklaces.
